Shrek has rescued Princess Fiona, got married, and now is time to meet the parents. Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey set off to Far, Far Away to meet Fiona's mother and father. But not everyone is happy. Shrek and the King find it hard to get along, and there's tension in the marriage. It's not just the family who are unhappy. Prince Charming returns from a failed attempt at rescuing Fiona, and works alongside his mother, the Fairy Godmother, to try and find a way to get Shrek away from Fiona.

Donkey tries to kick the cat, but instead gets Shrek in the crotch, doubling him over in pain (and he makes a verbal reference to being hit in the testicles). The Fairy Godmother tries to kill Shrek with her wand, but her magic deflects off King Harold's armor and zaps her instead, before she explodes into bubbles (and only her wand and glasses remain of her)(she is presumed to have died). - After Fiona throws the mermaid back into the ocean, two large sharks are seen immediately going after her. - Mainly slapstick/cartoon fantasy violence throughout. - There is a battle towards the end of the movie (NOT very violent, mainly played for laughs).|
