Movie Parental Guide

nudity MPAA rating: PG-13 for war violence 4/10 In one scene we see the shape of a woman's nipples through her sweater. Women wear dresses revealing cleavage throughout. One brief scene we see a woman's breasts when she is changing clothes. Also see her back and most of her legs. A scene with brief male nudity (rear only).
violence 5/10 We see hand to hand boxing training in boot camp and one character's face is bloodied from the contact. War violence including bodies flying in the air after explosions on the ground and numerous scenes of pilots taking gunfire from enemy planes. The movie is shown in various color toned black and white tints (blueish, sepia tones) for many of the aerial dogfight scenes yet the dark blood is very visible and realistic. We see an army tank run over a pillbox crushing everyone inside. We see an American aircraft fire its guns on an open convertible car carrying a German General and his aide causing the car to crash and overturn, the bodies can be seen inside but there is no blood visible. We see a German pilot's bloody face as he is carried away from his downed aircraft.
profanity 1/10 A man mouths the word 'bastard'.
alcohol 0/10 None.
frightening 7/10 Wartime violence by it's very nature is frightening. This film is very realistic and almost has a documentary feel to it at times. Although not as graphically violent and brutal as some more recent works of this genre it portrays war in a very true-to-life way and younger viewers should be warned accordingly.
